Rapido Captain is the free app that Rapido’s bike-taxi, auto, cab and delivery captains use to sign up, log in, take rides and get paid. Download it only from Google Play, where it has 10 million+ installs and a 4.1 rating. Rapido doesn’t offer an iPhone version, so avoid APK sites and lookalike apps.

Which app do I download to become a Rapido Captain?
Download Rapido Captain, published by Rapido Bike Taxi on Google Play. The app called “Rapido: Bike-Taxi, Auto & Cabs” is for customers who book rides, and you can’t work as a captain in it.
Both apps come from the same company, Roppen Transportation Services, which runs Rapido. The Captain app covers bike taxi, auto and cab rides, and delivery too.
How do I download the Rapido Captain app and sign up?
You download the app and sign up in four steps:
- Download the app. Open Google Play, search “Rapido Captain” and check that the developer is Rapido Bike Taxi before you tap Install.
- Sign up with your number. Open the app, enter your mobile number and type in the OTP sent by SMS.
- Upload your documents. The app asks for your driving licence, vehicle RC, a profile photo, and your Aadhaar or PAN card.
- Get activated and go on duty. Once Rapido approves your documents, switch the app to On Duty and accept rides near you.
Rapido’s Become a Captain page says joining is free. You need your own bike in most cities, but in Hyderabad and Delhi you can rent an EV from Rapido. Who can join, the documents and the checks after sign-up are in our Rapido captain registration guide.
Is Rapido Captain on iOS (iPhone)?
No. Rapido offers the Captain app only on Android. Its website links the Captain app to Google Play alone, and when we searched Apple’s App Store in India in October 2026, the only app from Rapido’s company was the customer app.
The App Store does have apps with similar names, such as “Rapido Rider” and “Rapido Go Driver”. They’re made by other developers, not Rapido. Don’t install them, and never give them your OTP, documents or bank details.
If you only have an iPhone, you’ll need an Android phone to work on Rapido.
How do I log in to the Rapido Captain app?
Open the app, enter the mobile number you signed up with, and type in the OTP that Rapido sends by SMS. Log in on the phone you’ll carry on rides, because the app uses your live location.
If you can’t log in:
- No OTP? Check your signal and your SMS inbox. Allow the app to read SMS when it asks: Rapido’s privacy policy says it uses this to send and receive one-time passwords.
- App not working? Update it from Google Play. Rapido’s captain terms say it isn’t responsible if you don’t use the correct, compatible version of the app.
- Account blocked? Rapido’s terms say it can suspend or permanently deactivate an account for repeatedly turning down ride requests, or if it can’t verify your details. Tap Help in the app, or use the Contact Us form on Rapido’s website.
What can I do in the Rapido Captain app?
Once your account is active, everything happens in the app:

How do I get paid through the Rapido Captain app?
Rapido adds your earnings to your Captain wallet automatically, and you transfer the money to your bank account when you want. The wallet shows each ride’s earnings, any incentives and every transfer you make.
Rapido says captains can earn up to ₹150 an hour, around ₹1,500 a day or ₹30,000 a month. That is an upper figure, not a promise. What you take home depends on your hours, the demand in your city, any platform fee, and your fuel and phone costs.

Is the Rapido Captain APK safe to download?
Only the Rapido Captain app on Google Play comes from Rapido. APK files on other websites, including “MOD APK” sites that show up on Google for “rapido captain app”, are not made by Rapido.
A modified APK can steal your OTP, bank details or documents. Rapido’s terms say it isn’t responsible if you don’t download the correct app, so if something goes wrong, you’re on your own.
Things to know before you start
- Android only. If your only phone is an iPhone, you can’t use the Captain app.
- Pay isn’t fixed. ₹30,000 a month is Rapido’s “up to” figure. Fuel, phone data and bike servicing come out of your earnings.
- Fees can change. Rapido’s terms let it charge captains fees or a subscription to use the app, as updated in the app, and the rules differ by state. Check the current amount before you go on duty.
- Turning down rides has a cost. Refusing ride requests again and again can get your account suspended.
- The insurance has conditions. The Play Store listing shows “₹5 Lakh*” with an asterisk. Read the terms in the app’s insurance section.
- Bike taxi rules differ by state. Check that bike taxis are allowed where you live. Our bike taxi rules explainer covers the problems in some states.

Is the Rapido Captain app free?
Yes. The app is free on Google Play, and Rapido says you can join as a captain free of cost. Its terms do let it charge captains fees or a subscription to use the platform, depending on your state and vehicle, and the app shows the amount. Never pay an agent who offers to “make” your captain ID.

Yes. Google Play’s data safety section says Rapido gives you a way to ask for your data to be deleted, and Rapido’s captain terms let a captain end the agreement with 7 days’ written notice. Transfer your wallet balance to your bank first, then ask Rapido to close your account through Help in the app or the Contact Us form on Rapido’s website.
Does Rapido share my phone number with customers?
It can. Rapido’s privacy policy says it may share a captain’s name, vehicle number, driving licence number, phone number, profile picture and tracking details with customers to provide the ride. Rapido may also record calls you make to customers, and its terms ask you to take calls only after stopping your vehicle.
