What is the Instamart Delivery Partner App?
It is the app Swiggy Instamart riders use to sign up, take grocery orders, book shifts and track their money. It is made by Swiggy Instamart, has 10 lakh+ downloads and a 4.5-star rating, and was last updated in October 2026.
It is a separate app from the Swiggy Delivery Partner App, which is for food orders from restaurants. If you want to deliver food instead, read our guide to the Swiggy delivery partner app. The shopping app called “Instamart: Groceries & more” is for customers, so it won’t sign you up as a rider.
All your orders start at one Instamart store. This is a small warehouse that only packs online orders, often called a dark store. Instamart has 1,200+ stores in 130+ cities by its app listing (its rider page says 1,300+), and more than 3 lakh delivery partners.
What documents do I need for the Instamart delivery partner app?
You need your Aadhaar card, PAN card and driving licence, and you upload them during onboarding. If you will deliver by cycle or EV, Instamart says you don’t need a driving licence.
- Aadhaar card
- PAN card
- Driving licence, for a bike or scooter (not needed for a cycle or EV)
- A bank account, because your earnings are paid into it every week
- An Android phone with mobile data
You also need to be 18 or older. College students aged 18+ are welcome too: Instamart names students among the people it wants for part-time shifts.
How do I join Instamart with the delivery partner app?
You join in four steps, all inside the app, and Instamart says you can start earning from day one.
- Get the app on your Android phone. It is called Instamart Delivery Partner App, and the maker’s name is Swiggy Instamart.
- Register and upload your documents. Enter your name and mobile number, then add clear photos of your Aadhaar, PAN and driving licence. Keep your name spelled the same way on each one.
- Finish the digital onboarding. The Instamart joining fee depends on your city and store. Joining is free in many cities, and in some there is a one-time onboarding fee that you can pay upfront or in small instalments from your earnings over a few weeks. Your uniform and delivery bag are then sent to your home.
- Start delivering. Choose the Instamart store that works for you, book a shift and go online. The app’s screens mention instant ID activation, so you can start soon after onboarding.

How do I log in to the Instamart delivery partner app?
You log in with the same mobile number you registered with. Swiggy’s rider sign-up confirms that number with a 6-digit OTP, so keep the phone with that SIM handy.
A few quick tips for a smooth login:
- Use your registered number. Your rider account is linked to it.
- Keep the app updated so you have the latest version.
- Turn on mobile data and location, since the app needs them to show your store and orders.
- Coming back after a break? Our guide to Instamart ID reactivation explains how to rejoin.
You may also come across an “Instamart partner portal” on the web. That one is for brands that sell their products on Instamart. Riders do everything in the delivery partner app.
How does your first trip work?
Your first trip starts at your store: you go online near it, collect a packed order, ride it to the customer close by and come back for the next one.
- Book your shift. Pick the hours that suit you, part-time or full-time.
- Go to your store. The app asks you to be near your store to go online.
- Collect the order. Store staff pick and pack each order in a few minutes. When it is ready, the app tells you, and the store team matches the order to your app and hands it to you.
- Ride to the customer. Orders are usually within 1–3 km, and the app tracks each one live.
- Hand it over and head back. Your earning shows up in the app’s live earnings view, and you return to the same store for your next order.
Instamart says short trips from one store mean more orders, and higher earnings, per hour. Our team can walk you through your first trip too.
How do payouts work in the Instamart delivery partner app?
You earn for every order you deliver, plus incentives, peak-hour surge pay and customer tips. The app keeps a live record of every rupee, and Instamart pays your earnings straight into your bank account every week.
| What you earn | In plain words |
|---|---|
| Order pay | Money for each order you deliver. Our Instamart rate card explains it |
| Daily incentives | Extra daily rewards on top of order pay |
| Surge pay | More per order at peak hours |
| Customer tips | Added to your weekly earnings |
| Joining bonus | Up to ₹18,000 (estimate) for new partners |
| Referral rewards | Up to ₹18,000 per friend who joins (estimate) |
Instamart’s listing says you can earn up to ₹60,000 a month. Your own total depends on your city, how many orders you deliver and the incentives you earn, and the app gives an earnings estimate for your city and vehicle type when you sign up. Bonus and referral amounts are estimates that change by city, season, weather and demand.
If you paid the onboarding fee in instalments, those small amounts come out of your first few weekly payouts.
Good to know before you start
A little preparation helps you earn well from your very first week.
- Pick a store close to home. Every order starts at the same store, so a nearby one means less riding and more orders.
- Keep your documents ready as clear photos on your phone before you register.
- Budget for fuel and mobile data, which come out of your earnings.
- Ride at peak hours. Surge pay makes the busy hours the best-paid ones. Our tips on getting more Instamart orders help here.
- No vehicle? No problem. You can rent a bike, e-bike or cycle, and the app can connect you with local rental vendors.
- You’re covered. Instamart gives partners accidental and medical insurance of up to ₹12 lakh, 24×7 live order support and emergency help with voice calling.
- Never pay any person or outside link for a job. If someone asks you for money to join, report it at cybercrime.gov.in.
